SWEET HYSSOP & LEMON BALM MINT ICE CREAM

I have found since playing around with recipes and incorporating other healthier alternative recipes into mine, I thought of integrating calming herbs and frozen fruit into my children's ice cream to avoid unwanted packaged ice cream ingredients and having to deal with sugar spikes that will lead them from bouncing off the walls. Here's a recipe that children can enjoy without the unwanted side effects.

Before I dive into the recipe, the main calming herb ingredients are fresh Hyssop leaves (Hyssopus officinalis) and Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis). Health facts for these herbs are that they both come from the mint family and have many bodily benefits that help with healthy stimulation, circulation, modulation of mood, cognitive function, and antistress. They are also rich in flavonoids and have flavourful compounds that can act as antioxidants.

you will need

1/3 - fresh hyssop and lemon balm leaves (hyssop flower is optional)

4-5 frozen bananas

2 cups of frozen cherries

1/2 tsp of amla powder

1/2 cup of coconut can use milk (I use Cha's organic coconut milk or cream)

steps

Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender (on the ice cream set, if there are any). Once it turns into a whip, scoop it into a bowl and enjoy!
